Getting into the spirit of giving at the holidays is so much fun! You get to spend time thinking about those you love and dreaming up gifts to delight them.
Unfortunately, Americans will spend $15 billion this year on unwanted gifts. This year, instead of giving unwanted clutter, put on your thinking cap and get creative!
To help you along, I’m going to let you in on my secrets for coming up with the best clutter-free gifts. This list is by no means exhaustive, but consider it a jumping-off point to spark your own ideas.
You might be wondering, what are clutter-free gifts? Aren’t they just gift cards? Gift cards are fine, but ultimately, they result in more clutter being bought. You can be more imaginative than that! Consider clutter-free gifts in these three categories:
What do the people on your gift list love to do? What interest could be turned into an experience?
Entertainment Experiences: Give tickets to a concert, play, comedy show, sporting event, etc. You can give tickets to a specific event, a gift certificate so the recipient can select the show and/or date, or season tickets to make the fun last longer.
Food Experiences: Restaurant gift cards are an easy idea, but here are some out-of-the-ordinary gifts for the foodies in your life.
Active Experiences: Tickets and passes to activities are fun for kids and adults, and can even be a good choice for picky teenagers.
Consumable gifts are things that get used up. Food, of course, tops the list, but there are plenty of other ideas out there.
Put a little luxury into people’s daily lives when you upgrade their articles of daily living.
